Iron Maiden Announce New Dates With Support From Anthrax

Iron Maiden have announced some changes to their 2014 leg of the Maiden England Tour with the addition of two new shows that will feature support from Anthrax and a move to a larger venue for another show.

The newly announced shows with Anthrax will be taking place in Spain. The first one will be on May 27th at The Palau San Jordi in Barcelona and the second show will take place on May 27th at the The Bizkaia Arena at Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Bilbao.

The band also announced that due to high demand they have been forced to change the venue for their July 1st concert in Luxembourg to the 12,000 capacity main field at the Rock-A-Field Festival Ground, Roeser after tickets for the show at the original venue enjoyed a record breaking sell-out in just under two hours.

Their year's leg follows the successful 2013 Maiden England World Tour and the new leg was scheduled to perform in countries that were not included in the original tour leg.

Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood also explains that this tour will likely be the final time that fans will see the legendary metal band tour with setlists based largely on their epic tours of the 1980s.

Smallwood says, "The Maiden England 2013 Tour was incredibly well received everywhere and there is much demand from fans to see more and for the band to visit some places in Europe we couldn't make it to this year so we thought we should play a few more shows. However this will be a relatively short tour in Maiden terms, starting towards the end of May and finishing at Sonisphere, Knebworth in early July. During 2014 we have something new we need to start thinking about, and on which we will be wholly and firmly focused going into 2015 and beyond!

"As all our fans know, Maiden England is Part 3 in the History Trilogy of the 1980s video/DVD releases so this is likely to be the last time we will tour with a set list based on the '80s, and therefore the last time fans will EVER hear some of these songs played live. With this in mind, for the 2014 dates we plan to change the set list around a little, to make it more equally representative of the whole of the '80s period covered by those three DVDs - Early Days, Live After Death and of course Maiden England, along with one notable exception from the 90's, the fans will know which song I'm talking about!

"So for now, take care and look after yourselves and we'll see you all next summer "
