Karen O Releasing Solo Debut This Fall

(Radio.com) It's official, Karen O is going solo. And the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman promises her debut will be a bit more subdued than anything else she's previously done. So fans should probably say goodbye to those days of O spitting beer at the crowd and wildly swinging her lipstick-stained mic. At least for now.

The singer's first solo album, Crush Songs-out September 9 via Julian Casablancas' label, Cult-will be more in the vein of her GRAMMY-nominated "The Moon Song" from Spike Jonze's movie, Her.

The pre-order is a limited edition vinyl that will include original drawings and handwritten lyrics by the artist herself."When I was 27 I crushed a lot," scribbles Karen on one of the notes she placed in the album. "I wasn't sure I'd ever fall in love again.

"These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours."
