Fall Out Boy Covers Queen's 'We Are The Champions'
. At a show in Mansfield, Massachusetts, the guys pulled out the anthem to help invigorate the crowd and yes, perhaps try to save rock and roll, just as their latest album proclaims. Sure, Stump isn't exactly Freddie Mercury, but he manages to hit the notes as Joe Trohman find his inner-Brian May for an arena rock-worthy guitar solo. Yeah, it's solid. According to Pete Wentz though, the band isn't interested in becoming the next Queen, they want to earn Metallica status. "Musically, I look at a band like Metallica and when people talk about Metallica, Metallica is the descriptor for the band, like when people say 'such-and-such band sounds like Metallica,'" Wentz told Radio.com. "I would love to be a band where people say "oh that band sounds like Fall Out Boy." And I think that the way you do that is by creating a legacy and by remaining true to who you are and most importantly, just surviving." Fall Out Boy are currently on tour with Paramore until August 17. Watch the band cover Queen's "We Are The Champions" here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
