Fun. Debut Their New Power Ballad 'Harsh Lights'

(Radio.com) On Wednesday night, fun. unleashed what will no doubt be another huge hit for the band, following their 2012 album Some Nights. On The Tonight Show, peerless vocalist Nate Reuss led the band in their debut performance of "Harsh Lights," a power ballad in the same vein and Reuss and Pink's bent-not-broken duet "Just Give Me A Reason."

"Fall asleep to revolution/ wake up to another sad excuse," sings Ruess with Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff playing by his side. Yes it's true, "We all got scars," and we will do our best to "woah-oh" through our pain right along with Ruess' always remarkable vocal performance.

This is the first track, presumably, from fun.'s untitled forthcoming album, which Ruess said will be a much more emotional affair this time around. "I look at Some Nights and some of the things that I feel like I did wrong on that," he said earlier this year to Rolling Stone, "and I look at other albums that I've done in the past as a lyricist and not only want to maintain a certain level but exceed it. The pain for me in songwriting is always putting lyrics to things. And so hopefully I've got enough firepower. I've definitely had enough s-t go down in the last few years."
