Rick Rubin Working On Kanye West's New Album
. What he hasn't had a lot of time for though is recording. But thanks to a new interview with Rick Rubin we're getting a few details of where Kanye is at currently with his upcoming project. Rubin sat down with BBC Radio 1′s Zane Lowe for a four-part interview airing yesterday (June 16) and today and confirmed that yes, he is working on Kanye's new album. According to NME, Rubin said that Yeezy was coming by his California recording studio that same day as the interview to start "looking at vocal ideas for things for the next album." Though one could attest that sounds like Kanye is really only in the early stages of recording, Rubin tells a story about working with Kanye on Yeezus, which makes it clear, 'Ye doesn't need that much time to make a masterpiece. "He originally came over and said 'I wanna come play you my new album' and I thought we'd be listening to a finished album," Rubin explained of his Yeezus sessions. "Then we listened to about three hours of music, most of which didn't have vocals, and at the end I was like 'Wow, so what's it gonna be?' I'm thinking it's a year away and he was like, 'Well, I'm putting it out in like 5-6 weeks.'" more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
