Miranda Lambert Scores Her First No. 1 Album
. Lambert released her fifth studio album Platinum on June 3, and it went on to sell 179,000 copies in the week ending June 8, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That sales figure was enough to place her in the No. 1 spot on the all-genre Billboard 200. This marks Lambert's first time topping that chart, and she's only the 11th female country artist to have done so since the chart launched in 1956. Before Lambert, the most recent female country artist to top the Billboard 200 was Taylor Swift. Additional releases on the Top 10 on this week's Billboard 200 include new collections from Brantley Gilbert, Coldplay and 50 Cent; the soundtracks to the films Frozen and The Fault in Our Stars; and a series of reissued albums from Led Zeppelin.
