Boyband Covers Green Day
. With their cover released today (June 11) in conjunction with the magazine's new issue, 5 Seconds of Summer are featured right off the bat with their rendition of "American Idiot," alongside Bowling for Soup and Escape the Fate. The Australian combination boy band and pop-punk foursome certainly haven't hidden their penchant for punk in the past, making "American Idiot" a fitting cover for the group. That means it's not something along the lines of One Direction covering Green Day in terms of complete harmlessness, especially since the quartet plays their own instruments, but it does lack some of the bite of the original - these are teenagers, after all.
