The ceremony will feature performances from many of Cale's friends and past collaborators. Other Oklahoma music greats to be inducted this year include Elvin Bishop, Jim Keltner (a close friend of Cale's who also plays on Eric Clapton's tribute album - The Breeze, as well as many of the greatest records in rock and roll history), Chuck Blackwell and Lowell Fulson.

Cale was one of the originators of what became known as the Tulsa Sound, a loose genre drawing on blues, rockabilly, country, and jazz influences. Some of his most recognized songs were hits for others, including "After Midnight" and "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton and "Call Me The Breeze" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. - more on this story
