.
On Wednesday Big Star's First Two Albums Remastered For Reissue was a top story. Here is the recap: (Radio.com) If you are a fan of Big Star and were not alive in the '70s when the band released their music, chances are you came into contact with the first two Big Star albums as one album, as #1 Record and Radio City have been combined and released as a two-for-one combo for years. Now they are finally being re-issued as two separate albums, just as they were originally released in 1972 and 1974, respectively.

Both albums will come decorated with new liner notes written by R.E.M.'s Mike Mills, a fan and collaborator with Big Star drummer Jody Stephens, who is the last remaining member of the band who played on these two albums.

"Songwriting has always been, for me, the most vital gauge of a band's quality, and these guys were clearly masters," says Mills in a press release. "Big Star gave you something satisfying to listen to, no matter how many times you heard them." - more on this story
