Clay Aiken Running for Congress? (Recap)
. According to the Washington Blade, the singer is "actively considering" a bid for North Carolina's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. The paper, which calls itself "America's leading gay news source," reports that two Democratic sources who spoke on condition of anonymity say the Raleigh native has spoken with political consultants. They also say that Aiken already started "running phone calls to gauge support, talked to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and has met with figures in Raleigh, N.C.," including a political strategist who worked with Al Gore during his bid for president, about potentially running for the Congressional seat this fall. Aiken has made no formal announcement of his plans to run for office, but has apparently already started "sounding and acting like a candidate." - more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
