(Classic Rock) David Bowie won the Best British Male Solo Artist Brit award for his surprise comeback album The Next Day this week. In doing so he became the oldest person ever to receive a Brit at the annual ceremony, run by the British Phonographic Industry.

Bowie didn't attend the event, but sent supermodel Kate Moss - wearing one of his Ziggy Stardust outfits - to collect his award, and used the platform to ask Scotland not to vote for independence from the UK in the country's September referendum.

"In Japanese myth the rabbits on my old costume that Kate is wearing live on the moon. Kate is from Venus and I am from Mars," Moss read out. "I am completely delighted to have won the Brit for being Best Male - but I am, aren't I, Kate? I think it's a great way to end the day. Thank you very, very much. And Scotland: stay with us." more on this story
