Slash Plans Hackathon at SXSW
. Slash's official site says that the event, dubbed Slashathon, will challenge developers over a 12-hour-period to create new applications that will "create solutions for artists to engage their communities for an album release." The judges for the event will be Slash, BitTorrent's Chief Scientist and founder Bram Cohen, and DominateFund cofounder and managing partner Ben Parr. The event is set to take place at Capital Factory in Austin on March 12th and the prize will include an autographed Gibson guitar and $1000, plus Slash may use the winning "hack" to promote his forthcoming solo album. Slash has set up a special website with more details here.
