Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers Rock Super Bowl
. The Half-Time Show went down at the Super Bowl XLVIII with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bruno Mars coming together in the chilly weather to rock the Met Life Stadium. The show started off with a kids choir singing their hearts out Mars' song "Billionaire," made famous by Travie McCoy. Bruno Mars decided to let the kiddies take center stage, while he took his place behind the drums- designed in honor of his mother- in a little gold jacket custom made by Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane to pound out "Locked Out of Heaven" as the platform he was sitting on moved him back to the stage. Soon, Mars was in the spotlight with his band, the Hooligans, who nearly stole the show away from the singer with their impressive synchronized dance moves. Not that Mars stood still while belting out "Locked Out of Heaven" from his latest album, 2012′s Unorthodox Jukebox, he instead to do a little Elvis hip-swiveling, Michael Jackson moonwalking and some James Brown "I Feel Good" moves for good measure. This song also ushered in the fireworks, which would make an appearance throughout the rest of the performance. As Bruno's hype man got the people to put their hands together, Mars started in on "Treasure" before launching into "Runaway Baby" off his 2010 debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. This song offered a stepping stone to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who popped out-shirtless, none the less- to rock out "Give it Away." Though Anthony Kiedis was hard to hear, Mars' band jumped their hearts out. No easy feat for his brass section, who jumped with their saxophones and trumpets. To end the night, Mars pulled at the heartstrings with a performance of his debut single, "Just The Way You Are," introduced by soldiers from the United States Armed Forces over seas who stated their requests for the sweet song.
