Scott Weiland Imposter Fronts Stone Temple Pilots Cover Band?

(Radio.com) Last week, a strange story emerged in which many were duped (including the police) into thinking former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland had been arrested for methamphetamine possession and burglary. Quickly, the news was revised that the man accused was actually not Weiland, but Jason Hurley, just a dude that bared a striking resemblance to Weiland.

It turns out, Hurley's preoccupation with the "Plush" and "Interstate Love Song" singer goes deeper than just impersonating him on arrest. Hurley has claimed to be in a Stone Temple Pilots cover band, named Stone Tempered Pilots. Alternative Nation notes that on Hurley's Facebook page, he posted several months ago about a scheduled gig for the tribute act at Hollywood's Roxy Theatre.

Maybe equally as weird, is Hurley's claims to be in with a host of A-list musicians. In a separate post, Hurley refers to Jane's Addiction's Dave Navarro as "my buddy," speaks of being at "Ozzies House with Sharon b--g in the background," (great friends, but he can't spell his name right?), and recalls being "attacked" by Juliette Lewis. He also likes soccer. For fun, check out the full, error-ridden Facebook post (via Alternative Nation) here.
