Brad Paisley Releases New Album Moonshine in the Trunk
. Coproduced by Paisley and Luke Wooten, Moonshine in the Trunk is Paisley's tenth studio album. Paisley also wrote or cowrote 13 of the 14 songs on the collection, including "River Bank," a good-natured summertime jam that became the new album's lead single. It's "kind of a back-to-basics song," Paisley told the Nashville Tennessean about "River Bank." "I've called myself, for years, a river rat," he continued, saying that "my best memories with my grandfather are on that body of water, and my dad and learning to ski." After debuting "River Bank" live during the ACM Awards in Las Vegas this past April, Paisley released a video for the song as well. And not just any video: this one featured Paisley and his band playing while half-submerged in river water (using, by the way, instruments that had been damaged in the 2010 Nashville flood) while good-looking young folks frolicked all around them. Even more impressive, though, were the antics of the video's real star, Twiggy, the Water-Skiing Squirrel. "River Bank" and its accompanying video clearly set the tone for the album, showing that Paisley appears to have deliberately veered away from some of the serious (and controversial) topics he broached on his last album, 2013's Wheelhouse. Instead, Moonshine in the Trunk is imbued with a spirit of fun. More on this story here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
