Slipknot Release The Negative One Video
. To celebrate the band's first release since 2008's All Hope is Gone, drummer and director M. Shawn Crahan adapted the band's interactive website. The result is a full-length ghoulish nightmare complete with severed goats heads and a woman stripping off her clothes as she loses her marbles in a dimly lit, tiled cell. "The Negative One" is the first single from the metal band's fifth album, due this fall. "I can say that, to me - and this is only my opinion - it's a cross between Iowa and Volume 3 but that's honestly just scratching the surface," frontman Corey Taylor told Kerrang of the album in February. "I think the fans are going to be very, very excited when they hear this stuff. "It feels like the story of the band so far, which is a totally different take on what I've been used to writing with Slipknot. But I think because of everything we've been through, it's time to tell that story. It's going to be everything you want in a Slipknot album, and everything you wouldn't expect." The upcoming story will be the first one since the death of founding bass player, Paul Gray, as well the departure of drummer Joey Jordison. Watch the video here.
