KISS and Def Leppard Recruiting Veterans As Roadies
. The bands will be conducting a nationwide search for the veterans they will select as roadies via the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Hiring 500,000 Heroes campaign. Paul Stanley of KISS had this to say, "It is our privilege to draw attention to the obligation we all have to the brave men and women who volunteer to risk their own lives to protect the liberties and freedom that we all take for granted. We should all jump at any opportunity to provide any assistance needed by our warriors. Heroes deserve jobs!" Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliot adds, "Having our own wounded warrior in Rick Allen, we've always had a close tie with the military. To carry on and further our contribution by giving a little back, and hopefully helping fulfill a dream or two, we're more than happy to show our support." Two years ago KISS was part of a similar campaign where they selected Paul Jordan to act as their roadie for their summer tour. Jordan had this to say, "I know now that life exists after military service. You just have to find something you're passionate about and go get it. There is a world of opportunity out there." Eric Eversole, executive director of Hiring Our Heroes, said "We are thrilled to work with KISS, Def Leppard, and all of the great partners teaming up to find two veterans for this amazing opportunity," Eversole said. "Our team saw firsthand how much Paul Jordan's life changed when he toured with KISS. We applaud both bands for their continued dedication to the military community, and we hope others are inspired to follow their lead and hire military members and their spouses." Veterans who wish to apply for the positions can go to Military.com/Heroes for more information. All applications must be received by Friday, May 9th at 11:59 p.m. Military.com will work with KISS and Def Leppard to select the final two veterans. Link.
