Metallica Through The Never Enjoys Big IMAX Opening Weekend
. The film was reportedly produced with an $18 million dollar budget and started its limited engagement at 308 IMAX theaters this weekend, bringing in an estimated $1.67 million domestically. "Metallica Through The Never" scored the 13th place at the weekend box office overall. The film will receive a wider release at traditional movie theaters this coming weekend. The band's previous film, the documentary "Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster" earned over $1.22 million domestically in 2004, according to trade publication Deadline. Meanwhile, Metallica helped support the film's release by posting a 10 minute behind the scenes featurette for the film on Saturday via the MetallicaTV YouTube channel. You can watch that here.
