Jay-Z Curating the Holidays for Barneys New York
. Called "A New York Holiday," the gallery will include limited edition items that are the result of collabs between Jay and the creative directors from brands including Balenciaga, Balmain, Lanvin, The Elder Statesman, En Noir, Hoorsenbuhs, Just Don, Proenza Schouler, Rick Owens, Stutterheim, Acne Studios and Cutler & Gross. All in the color palette of black, white, gold and silver, the items are unified in the sense that New York City served as the inspiration for them. Twenty-five percent of sales from these luxury items will be donated to the Shawn Carter Foundation, Jay's charity that awards post-secondary scholarships to New York students facing socioeconomic hardships. "With this project, Barneys New York and I were able to take the slickness, energy, and innovation of New York City and translate that into quality, timeless pieces," said Jay Z in a press release issued by Barneys. "Everything that encompasses 'A New York Holiday'the items chosen, the amazing designers that participated, the windows, the design of the BNY SCC Galleryrepresents a perfect example of a unique and groundbreaking collaboration that I hope demonstrates how inspiring New York has been to me." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
