Days later the band announced he'd gone to rehab suffering from addiction issues, and added it was partly to do with their hectic work schedule. Now Dirnt reflects that the incident was 20 years in the making. He tells The Age: "We hadn't taken a vacation, hadn't looked up, hadn't done anything that wasn't writing music and touring. When you're working that hard there's a lot of downtime on the road.
