(Radio.com) Since the release of the Killers' debut album, 2004′s Hot Fuss, the band has been a perpetual radio staple, with hit singles that blast across the airwaves in heavy rotation on stations around the world.

But back in the early 2000s, before Brandon Flowers and his Vegas crew found super-stardom, the singer was just another aspiring frontman sitting outside a local convenience store.

"There's a 7-11 I grew up going to on Horizon and Pacific in Henderson, Nevada," Flowers remembered during a recent interview with Radio.com. "I was in the parking lot, and on Sunday nights they had this show called 'It Hurts When I Pee,' and it was a local night."

"Not the greatest name in the world," Flowers pointed out, but it does mark the first time he heard his band on the radio. Unfortunately, The Killers' charismatic frontman doesn't remember what song exactly it was that he heard first and there's no other witnesses to the moment since he was making that particular 7-11 run by himself. more on this story
