Aerosmith Dedicate Song To Uruguay President
. "Pepe, this is for you," said frontman Steven Tyler as Aerosmith kicked into their 1993 classic, "Livin' On The Edge." The show in the nation's capital came a day after band members Tyler, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford met with the President as the band continues its month-long tour of South America. "We believe in what he stands for," explained Tyler as to why the band wanted to meet with the President. "We believe that some of the best American Presidents who were those that fought in war themselves. President [Mujica] is a freedom fighter; in many ways, we fight for freedom ourselves with music it transcends all languages. His behavior the way he gives 70% of his salary to the people to build homes here, in a very small country, I think he's doing it the right way grass roots and we believe in that."
