Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert Release 'We Were Us' Video
. The video premiered Friday evening (Nov. 15) via Facebook, which coincided with a live chat from Urban. During the chat, he answered numerous fan questions, one which included how he chooses the songs for his albums that he doesn't pen himself. "It's just a feeling. If a song hits me in the right way. It doesn't always mean I'll be able to get myself around the song to be able to sing it. Some songs I really love but I don't think I'll be able to get myself around to sing them. Those don't make the record," he said. Urban didn't write "We Were Us" himself. The track was written by Nicolle Galyon, Jimmy Robbins and Jon Nite, but it's fair to say the song elicited that "feeling" he talked about. Written as a duet, Urban told Radio.com earlier this year that choosing Lambert for the song was a no brainer. "I just love Miranda's voice. I love her artistry. We did some shows together many years ago. She got up and did a song with me each night, and I loved our voices together. So, in the back of my mind I've always hoped I could find a song that we could do," he said. "The song 'We Were Us' came along, and it's not the kind of song Miranda would normally do, but her voice is the first one I heard in my head. I called her up and sent her the song, and she loved it and came to the studio. Blake [Shelton] came along as well and hung out for the day. I'm just so happy at the way it turned out."
