Colbie Caillat Talks New Album, Babyface, and Holiday Music
. The "Bubbly" pop star also happened to be on hand to speak with the Morning MIX as the show was announced, offering up fun Colbie Caillat facts including her height (5'9″) and the fact that she has no true preference as to which shoe she slips on first. Caillat is the perfect special guest for the All I Want For Christmas Show series, having released just last year her very first holiday album, Christmas In The Sand, which ironically, was created during the summer months. "Starting in January (2012), when I was actually in Bali playing a couple of songs, I was writing Christmas songs and practicing Christmas songs so that when I got home I could start recording it," she said. "We recorded the whole album, cuz I was touring, spread out through the whole summer until fall when it came out." Joined by guest stars including Brad Paisley, Gavin DeGraw and Justin Young on the album, Caillat chose to once again keep things all in the family with producer Ken Caillat, who saw to it that production remained festive no matter what time of year it was. "My dad produced it," Caillat confided, "so whenever he would have the players come in the studio and whenever I'd go in and sing, he'd put up the decorations. He'd be like, 'I want you guys to get into the spirit and pretend it's December right now.' I was like, 'You're cute Dad.' He really enjoys producing and he makes it really fun for everyone." She also gave an album update. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
