Lars Talks Metallica Movie At Cannes
. The film tells the story of a band crew member (played by Dane DeHaan) who is sent out on a mission during Metallica's live set in front of a sold-out arena; while on this mission, he unexpectedly has his life turned completely upside down. "Concert films have a tendency to be filmed from the outside looking [at the band]," explains Ulrich. "We felt it would be much more interesting if we filmed from the inside looking out. We always play 360, so the primary concert element is kind of up on stage filming out." Due for release this fall, the project has been described by one of its actors as "a concert movie meets 'The Wall' meets Metallica."
