(Radio.com) The excitement surrounding forthcoming release of Daft Punk's new album Random Access Memories has spilled over into the art world. The pioneering dance duo serve as the inspiration behind a new art show in San Francisco.

According to My Modern Met, the Gauntlet Galley will unveil "ReDiscovery: An Art Show Inspired By Daft Punk" which "will feature works by over 40 painters, sculptors, digital and screen print artists, each of whom has created an original work of art inspired by Daft Punk."

Many of the art pieces previewed on the gallery's website focus on the iconic robot personae of band members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. But some artists dig deeper into the group's catalog, displaying images that reflect characters from their 2003 animated feature Interstella 5555: The Story of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem, as well as Charles, the anthropomorphic dog that stars in the Spike Jonze-directed music video for Daft Punk's 1995 single "Da Funk." more on this story
