John Mayer announced that he is launching the Born and Raised Tour this summer that will span four countries and feature support from American Idol's Phillip Phillips. The trek will mark the first tour for Meyer in three years. He was sidelined with a granuloma of the throat which forced him to cancel last spring's tour and go on an "indefinite hiatus from live performing".
Mayer announced the tour during YouTube Livestream with Google+ Hangout last night. The trek is set to kick off on July 6th at Milwaukee's SummerFest.
Prior to the official tour, Mayer has announced two performances next month; a sold-out show on April 25th in Tuscaloosa, AL and the next night he will perform at the JazzFest in New Orleans.
Mayer will be donating a dollar from each ticket sold for the summer tour to NCIRE to support returning Veterans.
