David Bowie Rickrolled By Morrissey
. Morrissey had hoped to substitute the original cover for a 1992 photo of him and David Bowie together, shot in New York by Linder Sterling. Unfortunately, Bowie was less than keen on the idea. Although he had no legal rights to the photo, he used his leverage with EMI U.K. to squash the deal. The single's cover will now feature a 1989 photo of Morrissey alongside his friend and fellow British musician Rick Astley, taken backstage on BBC's Top of the Pops TV show. And thus, Morrissey has Rickrolled David Bowie. See it here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
