Carmine Appice and Peter Criss Honored At Bonzo Bash (A Top Story)
. The event took place on June 1st and Appice received with the Bonzo Bash Legend Award and Criss, who was not at the event, was also honored with the Bonzo Bash Founders Legend Award by organizer Brian Tichy. Carmine was recognized for his contributions to drumming since 1967 and his influence on Bonham. Peter Criss sent his congratulations to Appice, stating: "I would like to congratulate my dear friend Carmine Appice who truly deserves this award for all his great years of influencing us drummers--including the late great John Bonham." The Bonzo Bash is series of all-star tribute events to Led Zeppelin's John Bonham, which celebrate the legendary drummer's birthday and music, with performances from some of rock's biggest drummers. Appice also acted as co-host for all three Bonzo Bash East Coast Invasion shows, including the May 30 event held at the Gramercy Theater in Manhattan and May 31 event at Revolution Bar & Grill on Long Island. -
