Speculation Grows That Daft Punk Will Join Phoenix At Coachella
. Lending credence to our seemingly impossible dream is Phoenix's 2010 headlining performance at New York's Madison Square Garden, where Daft Punk thrilled the audience by appearing onstage unannounced to perform versions of their hits "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and "Around the World" as well as Phoenix's own song "1901," much to the delight of the audience. The connection between the two acts goes back years, with Phoenix guitarist Laurent Brancowitz once playing in a band called Darlin' with Daft Punk members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daft Punk allegedly turned down "a gigantic sum of money" to headline this year's Coachella festival, which doesn't necessarily rule out a cameo appearance during Phoenix's set. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
