Kanye West Rants Against the Grammys Over His Lack of Nominations
. Kanye received two nominations � Best Rap Album for Yeezus and Best Rap Song for "New Slaves" � but Tuesday night (Dec. 10) in Phoenix, Arizona, he decided to ask, why wasn't he given more? "Yeezus is the top one or two album on every single list," he told the crowd. "But only gets two nominations from the GRAMMYs. What are they trying to say?" In an audio clip captured by the Phoenix radio station, Live 101.5 (a Radio.com station), Kanye also mentions, "I'm 36 years old and I have 21 GRAMMYs. Out of all those 21 GRAMMYs I've never won a GRAMMY against a white artist." This a common talking point for Kanye, who last year spoke out against the GRAMMYs. "18 GRAMMYs, all in the black categories but 18 GRAMMYs�" Over his nearly decade-long career Kanye has received 53 nominations for his seven albums, which puts him at No. 5 on the list of most nominated artists. With 21 wins he'sputting him at No. 6 on the list of all-time winners.
