Queen Pick Actor To Play Freddie Mercury In Biopic
. The movie, which will be helmed by first time director Dexter Fletcher with a script written by The Queen and Frost/Nixon scribe Peter Morgan, will tell the story of the band's rise to fame, culminating with Queen's legendary performance at the 1985 charity concert, Live Aid, which was organized by Bob Geldof to raise funds for the famine in Ethiopia. The film is slated to include Queen's music including their hit songs "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions," "Another One Bites The Dust" and "You're My Best Friend." Sacha Baron Cohen was originally cast as Mercury in 2010, but left the film this past July due to "creative differences" with the surviving members of Queen. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
