One Direction Makes Chart History with 'Midnight Memories'
. One of the biggest records of the year, Midnight Memories fell short of besting just the top three sold albums of 2013, with Justin Timberlake, Eminem, and Drake leading the race. Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience sold 968,000 back in March while Em's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 sold 792,000 copies in its first week, according to Billboard. Drake comes in third with his Nothing Was the Same reaching 658,000 sold. One Direction comes in fourth place, right in front of Jay Z whose Magna Carta Holy Grail album sold 528,000 in July, according to Billboard. Midnight Memories not only went to No. 1 in the U.S., but in over 26 other countries including Canada, Australia, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Sweden, Turkey, Croatia, Czech Republic, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Middle East, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
