Rare Bruce Springsteen Born To Run Manuscript To Be Auctioned

. (hennemusic) A handwritten working manuscript of Bruce Springsteen's 1975 classic, "Born to Run", will be offered as part of a Sotheby's New York auction on December 5.

"Although Springsteen is known to have an intensive drafting process," said Sotheby's, "few manuscripts of 'Born to Run' are available, with the present example being one of only two identified that include the most famous lines in the song."

The auction house says that most of the lines in this version from 1974 were written in Long Branch, N.J. and appear to be unpublished and unrecorded, however it does include "a nearly perfected chorus." more on this story
