Robert Glasper To Cover Nirvana's Teen Spirit on Fallon

. EMI sent over word that Robert Glasper and his Experiment band will be performing their cover of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on June 20.

Glasper will also be sitting in as a special guest with Fallon's house band The Roots throughout the show.

Glasper was recently honored with his first-ever BET Awards nomination. The keyboardist was nominated for the Centric Award, a category that includes Common, Estelle, Robin Thicke, and Tyrese. The 12th Annual BET Awards will broadcast live from The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on July 1.

Robert Glasper Experiment will be appearing at the 2012 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans on July 7, as part of an artist line-up that includes D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige, Ledisi, Aretha Franklin and many more. Later that month Glasper will be rejoining Maxwell, along with Experiment members Derrick Hodge and Mark Colenburg, as part of the band backing the Grammy-winning R&B singer on his short run of arena tour dates that includes a pair of shows in Los Angeles (Staples Center, July 20-21), Atlanta (Phillips Arena, July 27-28) and New York (Prudential Center in Newark, August 3-4). The Experiment will be performing a free outdoor show in Harlem's Marcus Garvey Park on August 7, presented by City Parks Foundation and WBLS, with special guest vocalists to be announced.
