Mothers of Invention Co-Founder Ray Collins Dies
. Collins had been hospitalized since December 18 after suffering a massive heart attack, and was removed from life support on Saturday. Collins was the singer who invited a young Frank Zappa to join the Soul Giants, the band that eventually would become the Mothers of Invention.
