Paul Simon Plans Graceland 25th Anniversary Tour and Boxset

. (Gibson) In celebration of the 25th anniversary of his Graceland album and its subsequent tour, Paul Simon is planning a deluxe box set rerelease of his 1986 album, according to Billboard. Simon will also reunite with some of the artists he toured with in 1987, including South African vocalists Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

This summer, Simon reunited with LBM to play a concert in South Africa. The experience was filmed for a documentary by Joe Berlinger (Some Kind of Monster), which may play at film festivals next year and will be included in the Graceland box set.

"The documentary," Simon said, "took me back to the artistic aspects and the political aspects of making Graceland and the controversy that surrounded it and how it was resolved, plus what remains of it and what we learn from it." more on this story
