James and Ben Taylor Kick Off Father and Son Tour

. (Gibson) Ben Taylor has toured alongside Sheryl Crow and Blues Traveler, but never his own father. Until now, that is. The son of James Taylor and Carly Simon kicked off on a North American tour with his dad on Friday in support of his upcoming release, Listening, out later this year. Ben and his father will perform each show side by side, the two playing each other's songs.

"I originally asked if I could come out opening for him, but the whole set is integrated, and we're both on stage, performing on each other's songs," Ben said. "Half the songs are my dad's, and half are mine. It's phenomenal."

Ben says playing together was inevitable. "Really, it's a dream come true," he said in an interview with Gannett Media. "It was something we always figured we would get to sooner or later, but neither of us wanted to rush it. I didn't want to be ill prepared, because I know what a pro he is." more on this story
