The Felice Brothers Announce New Album and Tour Plans
. Next month, The Felice Brothers will embark on their previously announced six-week spring headlining tour of the US, Australia, and New Zealand. The band has added two dates to the tour: a second show at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ, on March 28th to follow the sold out show on March 27th, and a show at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, CA, on April 27th as part of the Sings Like Hell concert series. The Felice Brothers are also set to perform at this year's SXSW festival in Austin, TX, at Auditorium Shores on March 19th alongside Bright Eyes, Middle Brother, Man Man, and Kurt Vile, and will make their debut at the sold out Coachella festival in Indio, CA, on April 16th. Produced by Jeremy Backofen, the album is an exhilarating amalgamation of frightening horn sections, unexpected 808s, ambient synth lines, schoolyard taunts, booming, primitive drum beats, heavy bass lines, piano, violin, accordion, ringing guitars, rave beats, and sinister acid jazz that captivates and mystifies. The inspired and imaginative, passionate and rollicking Celebration, Florida maintains the steadfast authenticity for which the band has become known and loved, while it expands upon the dark, woozy undercurrent of ramshackle barroom blues, vaudevillian atmospherics, and surreal storytelling of their previous albums.
