(Gibson) Paul McCartney made a high-profile stop at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas this week to commemorate the fifth anniversary of Cirque du Soleil's Beatles show, Love. The appearance gave McCartney a chance to open up about his recent announcement that, for the first time ever, he will play Yankee Stadium on July 15.

"I love New York� I've always loved New York. But Linda was from New York, so I've got family there," the 68-year-old McCartney told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush, mentioning his late wife who passed away from cancer in 1998.

"[Someone] would say, you know, 'Would you like to play at Yankee Stadium?' And [I'd] go, 'Yeah.' So it sort of happens like that," he continued. more on this story
