Motley Crue's Mick Mars To Show His Soul
. "I think that bands get tired of playing certain songs because they've played them for so long, year after year after year," Mars said. He's still enjoying that, though, with the Cre's fans choosing their current set list via an online poll. "Some of those songs we haven't played in 20 years, like "Smokin' in the Boys' Room," Mars admitted. But Mars also has other plans. He revealed he recently jammed with jazz legend George Benson and they bonded over a common-love of Wes Montgomery. The session so affected Mars that he's now considering releasing a solo effort of R&B, soul, and blues songs. It will happen "if and when I find the right people," he said. "I found the right drummer, and I've asked Macy Gray if she'd like to guest on it," he said. "It's not going to be anything like Mtley Cre." more on this story Gibson.com is an official news provider for the Day in Rock.
