Grandmother Speaking To Dead Husband Inspires Queensryche

(Rock News Desk) Queensryche frontman Geoff Tate has revealed his grandmother carried on conversations with his grandfather every day until she died � even though her husband had passed away years earlier.

He found the experience so moving it inspired the lyrics to the track Broken on the band's latest album, Dedicated to Chaos. And Tate says his role as a musician is to communicate experiences like those to people who've never lived through them.

"Life in general is just one big source of inspiration. One of the most interesting things is the dynamic of personal relationships � there's so much there to work with and talk about."
