(Gibson) Slash announced he is working with R&B diva Mary J. Blige on a new track. The former Guns N' Roses axeman revealed the news via his Twitter account.

"Just finished a session with Mike Clink engineering on a track with Mary J. Blige. Sounds killer!" he tweeted.

As NME reminds us, it's hardly the only recent instance in which the guitarist teamed up with a R&B/pop star. He played on Rihanna's "Rockstar 101" in 2009 and collaborated with Black Eyed Peas chantreuse Fergie on "Beautiful Dangerous" on his 2010 solo album. It's not the only time Blige has crossed over either. She sang with Aerosmith at a Super Bowl halftime show and recorded a new version of "One" with U2. more on this story
