Queen and Pink Floyd Rock Desert Island Poll
. The Radio 4 show Desert Island Discs is the second longest-running programme in history, having started in 1942. In each episode a star guest is asked to pick eight pieces of music they'd be marooned with, alongside a copy of the Bible and the Complete Works of Shakespeare. In the public poll Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody came fourth, immediately followed by Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. Number one position was taken by Ralph Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending and the rest of the top ten was made up by Elgar, Beethoven, Handel, Holst and Mozart. The Beatles came first in the artist listing, followed by Bob Dylan, Beethoven, Mozart, Floyd, Johan Sebastian Bach, the Rolling Stones, Elgar, Vaughan Williams and Queen.
