(X Parallel) After two years of being under contract without any official album release date in sight, an unidentified rapper has just released an independent project under a new moniker. Renaming himself X Parallel and concealing his identity to avoid any potential repercussions, he has decided to strike out on his own without the backing of his label.

X Parallel says, "I won't name names but those who were supposed to work in my best interest pushed me to the side to focus on their Top 40 artists. Maybe it's because I don't rap about the same nonsense these other artists do. After two years of empty promises, I decided to take action. The music industry is a sinking ship I don't want to be on any longer. This new project may be risky but it will finally allow me to be heard." X Parallel adds, "I'm working with a new up-and-coming team who has no connections to the team I was formerly associated with. I had my eyes on them for a while and liked what they were doing. They support artists with substance like DJ Drez who's had a great cult following for years. As an independent company, they don't have resources like a big label does but they understand what I'm trying to do and don't expect me to be the next Drake or Kanye West. For me, that's priceless."

Mike Russell, head of Los Angeles-based Say It Loud Music, was surprised when first approached with the project. "Initially, I had some serious concerns. Firstly, I didn't want to work with an artist already under contract. Secondly, I was turned off by the idea of having to work with someone whose identity must remain concealed from everyone, including myself, even if only for my own good. Lastly, I just wasn't sure my label would be able to handle this project. But after a few phone meetings, X Parallel sold me on his vision and need to be independent. We reviewed the legalities behind his other contractual obligations and found a way to make things work. At the end of the day, the music speaks for itself."

Following the release of the album and video, X Parallel plans on releasing periodical singles rather than traditional full-length albums. While some will be released through iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, and various other online music stores, other songs may be available for free download on XParallel.com and other popular Hip Hop sites.
