Singled Out: Jackie Greene's Shaky Ground
. I started writing this tune in the Fall of 2008. I had pages and pages of verses, but I didn't have a chorus. Each verse is a different character, sometimes from a different time and place. Time is a funny thing in songs. I feel like it's okay to jump around at random. I like to play with words sometimes. Mostly it's nonsense..."piano rain" was something I had written down and never got to use it before. "Charlie" is my dog. I just sort of imagined a work dog and a farmer for the last verse. For some reason, it made sense to me. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!
