Blues Star Phillip Walker Dies
. Walker grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast, learning from such giants as Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Lightnin' Hopkins and Lonnie "Guitar Junior" Brooks. He was hired by Chenier in 1953, and played for the zydeco king for nearly four years. He moved to Los Angeles in 1959 and had a hit song with "Hello My Darling."
