Stark Sands Joins Green Day Musical Cast
. "American Idiot" follows the exhilarating journey of a new generation of young Americans as they struggle to find meaning in a post 9/11 world. Following a 2009 world premiere at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in California, the show will open at the St. James Theatre on April 20, 2010. Sands previously appeared on Broadway in the 2007 revival of "Journey's End." He earned a Tony Award nomination for "Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play" and a Theatre World Award in recognition of his outstanding New York City stage debut performance. More recently he starred in the 2009 musical adaptation of "Bonnie & Clyde" at the La Jolla Playhouse and in summer 2009 co-starred with Anne Hathaway in the Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of "Twelfth Night." Previously he was awarded the Actors' Equity Foundation's St. Clair Bayfield Award for his role in the Classic Stage Company production of "The Tempest." He first earned recognition for his recurring role on the critically acclaimed HBO series "Six Feet Under" and later starred in the critically acclaimed, Emmy-nominated HBO mini-series, "Generation Kill."
