Metallica Were Unsure of Big 4 Success
. Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax shared the same stage for the first time ever at Sonisphere festival across Europe during the summer. The show in Bulgaria was shown in cinemas worldwide and has now been released on DVD. But many fans in the US, UK and elsewhere were disappointed not to get the chance to see the Big 4 live for themselves. "The shows were entirely scheduled and decided on by Metallica. It was their decision," Araya tells Noisecreep. "When it first came together a journalist asked James Hetfield about the tour, and he said Metallica weren't really sure about how well it would do, and they'd have to do a little bit more homework on it. "I'm sitting there thinking, 'If you asked me that question I'd say let's do a worldwide tour.' RockAAA.com is an official news provider for the Day in Rock. Preview and Purchase Metallica CDs |
