Yanni Announces New Album and Tour

The international superstar will also launch a major North American tour in 2011 starting March 22 in Peoria, IL.

In the course of a career spanning over 25 years, Yanni has accumulated more than 35 platinum and gold albums globally, with sales totaling over 20 million copies, including the double-platinum 1997 Tribute album, which sold more than a million albums within six weeks of its release, and his 1994 Live at the Acropolis album, which has sold more than 7.5 million copies worldwide (5 million in North America alone). He earned Grammy nominations for his 1992 album Dare to Dream, and the 1993 follow-up, In My Time.

With Truth Of Touch, Yanni returns as the prolific composer/pianist the world has come to know and appreciate. This album--his first instrumental release of original compositions in over eight years--is a return to the genre Yanni has helped to create and advance. Truth Of Touch is unmistakably Yanni, yet with a fresh, edgy new sound. "I work the rhythms in this album," explains Yanni about the new material. "There is a beautiful complexity in these rhythms, a new sound design. I think the melodic content is very strong and very memorable. I was having fun with this album and that's going to become apparent."
